The Cartu Charitable Foundation, owned by Bidzina Ivanishvili, will donate four million masks made by the Georgian company «Respirator,» the press service of the Government of Georgia reports.
With the support of the government, the Georgian company began production of medical masks. The first four million masks that the company will manufacture will be bought by the Cartu Fund and donated to the government.
According to Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, first of all, these masks will be transferred to the medical sector, to those who are at the frontline with the fight against COVID-19.
The company «Respirator» plans to produce from 200-250 thousand medical three-layer masks of high quality per day. The masks will meet international standards and will be certified by the National Center for Disease Control.
Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze, and Nikolai Chkhetiani, Chairman of the Cartu Foundation Board, visited the factory on the first day of production.
The government administration reminded that in early April, “Cartu” has already transferred 100 million lari (about 32 million dollars) to the state coronavirus fund — «StopCov.»
