The National Center for Disease Control has changed the counting system of patients with COVID-19 and began separating people who were infected in Georgia and ones who came from abroad, said Marina Ezugbaia, medical director of the Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital.

The first case of coronavirus infection in Georgia was recorded on February 26. By now there are 54 cured and three dead.

“There are 236 confirmed cases in Georgia, but three are imported — two from Armenia and one from Turkey. These cases were confirmed as positive. They are added to the number of people undergoing treatment but, on the recommendation of WHO, they are considered separately,” said Ezugbaia.
