Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia, a meeting of the Commission for the Coordination of Work to Prevent the Spread of the Coronavirus was held in the government.
According to the official website of the Prime Minister, Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan presented statistics of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Armenia and state of health of those infected.
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan touched on the tactics of combating coronavirus. It was suggested to extend the state of emergency for another 30 days and to preserve the existing restrictions on movement, public transport, interregional traffic, according to the schedule of which appropriate decisions of the commandant will be made. Then, issues related to limitations of certain types of economical activity, a schedule for their elimination, and an action plan to combat the spread of infection were discussed.
Issues related to the organization of work in the social, educational, cultural and other spheres of public life also were raised.
The Prime Minister instructed to submit a draft government decision on the extension of the state of emergency, the adoption of which will follow the Constitution of force law and will convene a special meeting of the National Assembly.
According to Radio Azatutyun, the state of emergency introduced in Armenia on March 16 ends on April 14.
