The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide loans to Georgian companies affected by the pandemic in lari.
The EBRD and the National Bank of Georgia are increasing the availability of lari for private companies by taking joint actions to support enterprises that have been affected by the situation associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
A mechanism has been created for the exchange of foreign currency (US dollars) into the national currency of Georgia. This allows the EBRD to provide reliable access to liquidity in GEL and to continue lending in local currency to companies experiencing temporary difficulties.
